According to a report by Football London on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Arsenal have been tipped to defend their Premier League title successfully following their impressive victory over Liverpool, with journalists Tom Canton and John Cross discussing the teams capable of challenging Mikel Arteta's side this season.
The two journalists examined Arsenal's title ambitions during the latest episode of the Seeing Red podcast after the Gunners secured a 1-0 victory at Anfield.
Kai Havertz scored the winning goal in the 16th minute, handing Arsenal their first Premier League victory at Liverpool's home ground since 2012.
The result sent the defending champions three points clear at the top of the table, while Liverpool fell nine points behind them. Arsenal have also won eight of their opening nine league matches, further strengthening their position in the title race.
Canton questioned which teams could realistically challenge Arteta's side, especially with Liverpool struggling for consistency and Manchester City facing uncertainty over their ongoing financial case.
Cross praised Arsenal's defensive strength, pointing out that they have kept six clean sheets in their first nine league matches.
"They do look unbeatable!" Canton said during the discussion.
However, Cross jokingly urged caution, warning that Arsenal could still experience a difficult spell during the campaign.
The conversation also examined Chelsea and Brighton as potential challengers. Cross acknowledged that both clubs possess qualities that could make them competitive, although he also identified weaknesses that could affect their title ambitions.
He suggested Brighton might struggle to balance their domestic fixtures with European commitments, while Chelsea could benefit from having only one match to prepare for each week.
Cross also highlighted Chelsea's midfield depth, defensive issues and goalkeeping situation as areas that could create problems for the club.
Nevertheless, he believes the Blues could emerge as serious contenders when their attacking players are available together.
On Bournemouth, Cross praised their performances but dismissed the possibility of them maintaining the consistency required to mount a sustained title challenge.
The journalists also discussed Manchester City's situation, with Cross suggesting that uncertainty surrounding the club's financial case could have a psychological effect on the players.
He questioned whether the unresolved proceedings and the possibility of punishment could influence City's performances in important matches, particularly their upcoming meeting with Arsenal.
Ultimately, Cross believes the Premier League title is Arsenal's to lose, although Manchester City remain a major threat.
With Chelsea and Brighton also showing potential, Arteta's side will need to maintain their impressive consistency if they are to become the first Arsenal team since the 1930s to win consecutive league titles.
