According to a report by BBC Sports on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Alexander Isak played a key role as Liverpool defeated Brighton 2-0 in their Premier League encounter.

The Swedish striker scored Liverpool’s second goal and contributed to the team’s attacking performance as the Reds secured all three points following an impressive first-half display.

Liverpool opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Pascal Gross inadvertently turned the ball into his own net. The early goal boosted the hosts’ confidence as they continued looking for opportunities to increase their lead.

Isak doubled Liverpool’s advantage four minutes later, scoring in the 21st minute after an excellent assist from French forward Bradley Barcola. The winger delivered the ball into a dangerous area, allowing Isak to tap it into an empty net and give Liverpool a comfortable two-goal cushion.

The Swedish international had already shown his attacking intentions earlier in the match. In the 20th minute, he created space for himself near the edge of the penalty area before attempting a shot, but his effort lacked accuracy and sailed over the crossbar. He quickly recovered from the missed opportunity by finding the net moments later.

Liverpool demonstrated impressive teamwork during the opening half, combining short passes with purposeful attacking movements. Isak’s ability to identify spaces in dangerous areas proved valuable as the hosts sought to exploit Brighton’s defensive weaknesses.

Brighton attempted to fight back after the interval, but Liverpool maintained their advantage and remained defensively organised. Although the visitors created opportunities to threaten the hosts, they struggled to break through Liverpool’s defence.

Isak remained on the pitch until the 77th minute, when he was replaced by Lewis Koumas as Liverpool managed their lead.

The second half ended without further goals, with Liverpool successfully protecting their advantage until the final whistle despite Brighton’s attempts to reduce the deficit.

Isak’s clinical finish and intelligent movement made him an important figure in Liverpool’s victory. His goal helped the Reds establish control of the contest, while his positioning and attacking runs provided a consistent threat throughout his time on the pitch.
