Javier Aguirre pushing Valencia to sign Anthony Martial

Javier Aguirre is eager to bring former Manchester United star Anthony Martial to Valencia to solve a few attacking issues.

As reported by Fichajes, Martial is the subject of significant interest from Valencia, with manager Javier Aguirre reportedly pushing for a move. The former Manchester United attacker is currently a free agent, and the Spanish club view him as a possible solution to their attacking problems.

Aguirre, well known for his time with the Mexico national team, wants key reinforcements in place at Valencia to help address their attacking issues. The Spanish side endured another difficult summer window, failing to sign several key attacking targets, while problems are also emerging with their current personnel.

Umar Sadiq, for instance, has continued to suffer from injuries this season, and Aguirre wants someone to support Hugo Duro up front. One of the names mentioned as a potential solution is the former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, who is currently a free agent following his departure from Mexican side Monterrey.

Aguirre believes that Martial’s ability to play up front and on the wings could give Valencia plenty of options. More importantly, the Frenchman is available to be signed as an out-of-window free transfer, as he is not connected to any other club at present, although it is essential for Los Che to reach a financial agreement with the player’s representatives.

Anthony Martial to Valencia?

Aguirre would have recent knowledge of Martial owing to his time in Mexico, as Valencia were reportedly one of the teams interested in the Frenchman recently. The player’s availability for a free transfer makes a move less complicated, although any deal will depend on his financial demands.

Martial also knows Spanish football following his loan spell with Sevilla a few years ago, and Valencia could view him as a bargain signing to help improve their attack. Los Che are currently 19th in La Liga and need urgent results to climb out of their current slump.

Martial has been linked with several clubs amid reports that he was offered to them as he searched for a new team. Valencia could represent a major point in his career moving forward, provided both parties can agree on the financial terms likely to be presented.
