Arsenal consider player sale as Bayern Munich enter race for Alex Baena

Arsenal remain interested in Spain and Atletico Madrid midfielder Alex Baena, according to football insider Ekrem Konur.

The Premier League champions are looking for a high-quality player to operate on the left side of midfield, with Baena regarded as one of their priority targets.

However, Arsenal could face competition from Bayern Munich. The German club are also interested in signing the Spain international and are prepared to challenge Arsenal for his services.

A potential deal for Baena could be worth about €80m.

Arsenal may look to sell Martin Zubimendi to raise funds for the transfer. The London club could use the proceeds from the midfielder’s departure to finance a move for Baena.

Baena currently plays for Atletico Madrid and represents Spain, while Zubimendi is an Arsenal player.
