According to a report by Madrid Universal on Saturday October 31, 2026, Real Madrid have reportedly moved into pole position to sign Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel, with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich falling behind in the race for the highly-rated 16-year-old forward.
Los Blancos have been pursuing Gabriel for some time, as the teenager considers leaving Old Trafford in search of a new opportunity. According to Diario SPORT, the Spanish giants are now favourites to secure his signature.
Paris Saint-Germain recently presented an improved financial and sporting proposal in an attempt to convince the youngster and his representatives. However, Gabriel reportedly rejected the offer because of his preference to continue his development in Spain.
Barcelona have also abandoned their pursuit after deciding against meeting the financial demands involved in completing the transfer. Bayern Munich had previously withdrawn their interest, leaving Real Madrid with a significant advantage.
Reports indicate that Madrid are prepared to invest more than €10 million in a three-year agreement to bring the English prospect to the Santiago Bernabeu. Nevertheless, an agreement with Manchester United over his departure must still be negotiated before the transfer can be completed.
Gabriel is widely considered one of England's most exciting emerging talents. His impressive performances in Manchester United's academy have attracted considerable attention, particularly after scoring 20 goals in 21 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League last season.
The teenager also announced himself in the UEFA Youth League by registering a hat-trick during his debut appearance in September, further demonstrating his exceptional attacking qualities despite his young age.
Real Madrid believe securing his services would represent an important investment in their future. Gabriel's outstanding dribbling, creativity and goalscoring ability have convinced several observers that he possesses the qualities required to become an elite attacking player.
Although the proposed financial commitment is substantial for someone who has only recently turned 16, Madrid are reportedly prepared to invest heavily in his long-term potential.
If Gabriel fulfils the expectations surrounding his development, the Spanish giants could eventually consider the investment worthwhile. However, negotiations with Manchester United remain crucial before his proposed move to Spain can become reality.
