According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 17, 2026, Lamine Yamal produced an outstanding display as Barcelona established a commanding 5-2 advantage over Real Betis in their La Liga encounter. The young Spanish winger played a significant role in his team's attacking performance, scoring an impressive goal and providing an assist to help the Catalan side dominate the contest.

Barcelona started the match with considerable intensity and took the lead in the 10th minute through Yamal. The talented forward demonstrated his individual quality by dribbling past opposing players before unleashing a powerful effort from the edge of the penalty area into the top-left corner. His excellent finish gave goalkeeper Alvaro Valles little opportunity to prevent the opening goal.

Yamal continued to cause problems for the Betis defence with his pace, close control and intelligent movement. His ability to create space and deliver dangerous attacking contributions helped Barcelona maintain pressure on their opponents. However, Real Betis responded in the 27th minute when Valentin Gomez rose above the defenders to head the ball into the net, bringing the hosts back into the contest.

Barcelona restored their advantage in the 41st minute. Rodri connected with Fermin Lopez's well-delivered corner and directed a header beyond the goalkeeper. Betis, however, refused to surrender and equalised again two minutes before the interval when Giovani Lo Celso produced an excellent strike into the top-right corner.

Following the restart, Barcelona increased their attacking efforts and continued searching for opportunities to take control of the match. Gabriel Jesus scored in the 51st minute to extend the visitors' advantage, although Barcelona subsequently had another effort ruled out for offside. Two minutes later, Abde Ezzalzouli responded for Betis, reducing the deficit to 3-2 and briefly increasing the pressure on the visitors.

Barcelona regained control in the 62nd minute when Eric Garcia headed home from Pau Cubarsi's delivery. The goal restored the team's two-goal advantage and strengthened their position in the encounter.

Dani Olmo subsequently added Barcelona's fifth goal in the 81st minute after combining with a teammate and finishing from outside the penalty area.

Yamal remained one of Barcelona's most influential performers throughout the match. His opening goal, creative contribution and persistent attacking threat demonstrated his growing importance to the team. Barcelona's clinical finishing and attacking quality ultimately helped them establish a commanding advantage against a determined Real Betis side.
