According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday October 16, 2026, Barcelona have received a major boost ahead of their La Liga encounter against Real Betis, with Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong returning to the squad after recovering from their respective injuries.

Hansi Flick has included both players in his squad for Saturday’s trip to Seville as the Catalan club prepare for a demanding run of fixtures.

Barcelona will visit Real Betis at Estadio de La Cartuja for their ninth league match of the 2026/27 season. The Spanish champions will be hoping to secure a positive result against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

De Jong’s return is particularly significant, as the midfielder has been unavailable since sustaining a knee injury after returning from the summer World Cup. The Dutch international has now received medical clearance, making this his first squad selection of the campaign.

Barcelona confirmed his availability in an official medical statement. The club announced that De Jong had been cleared to play and would be available to Flick for the upcoming match against Betis.

Meanwhile, Raphinha has also recovered from the minor injury he sustained while representing Brazil during the recent international break. The Brazilian winger missed Barcelona’s last two matches but is now ready to return to action.

Their availability represents a welcome development for Flick, who will need his strongest possible squad for Barcelona’s upcoming fixtures. The return of two important first-team players also provides additional options as the club prepare for their crucial UEFA Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain next week.

However, neither player is expected to feature in Barcelona’s starting lineup against Betis. Flick could instead introduce them from the bench to help them regain match fitness and rhythm after their respective absences.

Their potential involvement will offer Barcelona further encouragement ahead of the PSG showdown, with both players expected to play important roles as the season progresses.
