According to a report by BBC SPORT on Tuesday November 3, 2026, Galatasaray claimed an impressive 2-0 victory over Stuttgart in their Champions League encounter after Alexey Batrakov scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to put the Turkish side firmly in control.
The hosts delivered a strong first-half performance before showing resilience after the break to keep their opponents from finding a way back into the contest.
The home side made a lively start and created several promising attacking opportunities. Stuttgart nearly took the lead in the eighth minute when Jamie Leweling connected with a cross inside the penalty area, but his effort struck the left post. It proved costly as Galatasaray quickly took advantage of their opportunities.
Batrakov opened the scoring in the 12th minute after reacting quickest to a loose ball inside the box. The midfielder fired the rebound into the top-right corner to give his team the advantage. Just three minutes later, he doubled Galatasaray's lead with another clinical finish.
The second goal came after Davinson Sanchez produced an excellent through ball to find Batrakov. The attacker moved ahead of the goalkeeper before calmly directing his close-range effort into the bottom-left corner.
Stuttgart attempted to respond before the interval, with Chris Fuhrich coming close after receiving a pass from Deniz Undav. However, his effort narrowly missed the target. Galatasaray maintained their two-goal advantage heading into the break.
The visitors increased their attacking pressure after half-time and created several opportunities. Deniz Undav, Bilal El Khannouss and Chris Fuhrich all tested goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, but the Galatasaray shot-stopper produced important saves to preserve his team's lead.
Stuttgart thought they had reduced the deficit in the 75th minute when Fuhrich found the net from outside the penalty area. However, the goal was ruled out following a VAR review for offside. Undav also struck the crossbar during the same attacking spell.
Despite Stuttgart's late pressure, Galatasaray remained organised defensively and protected their advantage until the final whistle, securing an important Champions League victory.
