According to a report by Football London on Sunday October 25, 2026, Arsenal-bound teenager Victor Ozhianvuna has celebrated another major achievement after winning his second consecutive League of Ireland title with Shamrock Rovers, strengthening excitement ahead of his anticipated January move.
The young forward remains with the Irish champions until his Arsenal transfer becomes possible in January 2027, following his eighteenth birthday on January 10, while recovering from an injury.
Shamrock Rovers secured the championship after defeating Sligo Rovers four-nil, while title rivals Bohemians suffered a one-nil loss against Shelbourne, confirming another successful league campaign for the Dublin club.
Ozhianvuna has featured regularly for Rovers, making thirteen league appearances during 2025 before recording eighteen appearances in the current campaign, demonstrating his growing importance before injury interrupted his progress.
The teenager enjoyed an encouraging spell in May, registering assists in consecutive matches against Drogheda United and Galway United. His performances prompted manager Stephen Bradley to suggest a potential senior international call-up.
However, a back problem brought his promising run to an unexpected halt, leaving him sidelined for approximately five months. The injury has required careful management from both clubs involved in his future.
Bradley explained in September that Ozhianvuna's back and hip discomfort was connected to a growth spurt. Arsenal have reportedly assisted with his rehabilitation, with both sides prioritising his long-term development.
The cautious approach reflects the player's age and the importance of avoiding unnecessary risks during recovery. Arsenal are expected to complete the transfer once he becomes eligible and reaches full fitness.
Ozhianvuna is reportedly set to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at the Emirates Stadium until 2031. Shamrock Rovers are expected to receive approximately €2 million, with additional potential sell-on payments.
The agreement was arranged earlier, allowing the youngster to continue developing at the club he joined when he was six. His departure will represent another significant milestone in his footballing journey.
Although his injury prevented further involvement towards the season's conclusion, Rovers successfully retained their championship. Arsenal supporters will now await his arrival, hoping the talented teenager can recover fully and continue progressing in north London.
