Bayern Munich Set To Break Contract Policy For Harry Kane

According to a report by SPORTbible on October 29, 2026, Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing a new contract for Harry Kane. Interestingly, the proposed deal could see the German champions make an exception to their strict contract policy for players over 30.

Bayern traditionally offer players aged above 30 only one-year contract extensions. However, the reigning German champions are reportedly willing to offer the England captain a two-year extension, despite his preference for a three-year deal.

The proposed agreement would represent a significant departure from Bayern’s usual approach. This underlines how highly the club value Kane’s contribution since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. The 33-year-old has scored 146 goals across his first three seasons at the German club. More importantly, he has continued his impressive form this campaign, registering 10 goals in 12 appearances.

Kane’s Ballon d’Or victory has further strengthened his case for an improved contract. He scored 73 goals for club and country, finishing ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to become Bayern’s first Ballon d’Or winner in 45 years.

Former Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reportedly described Kane as an exception to the club’s age-related policy. He pointed to his fitness record, noting that the striker had suffered only one injury during his three years at the club.

Meanwhile, German journalist Raphael Honigstein said negotiations were advanced. The two-year extension, potentially including an option for an additional season, could offer both parties flexibility.
