According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 17, 2026, Lamine Yamal produced an outstanding performance as Barcelona secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Real Betis in their La Liga clash.

The Spanish winger opened the scoring with a brilliant goal and also provided an assist, playing a key role in Barcelona’s impressive attacking display.

Barcelona started the match strongly, taking the lead in the 10th minute through Yamal. The youngster showed excellent dribbling skills to get past several opponents before unleashing a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area into the top-left corner, leaving goalkeeper Alvaro Valles with little chance of stopping it.

Yamal continued to cause problems for the Betis defence with his pace, movement and creativity. However, Real Betis responded in the 27th minute when Valentin Gomez rose above the Barcelona defenders to head home the equaliser.

Barcelona regained the lead in the 41st minute through Rodri, who converted Fermin's corner with a well-placed header. Betis refused to give up and levelled the score again two minutes before half-time, with Giovani Lo Celso producing an excellent finish into the top-right corner.

After the restart, Barcelona maintained their attacking approach as both sides continued to search for goals. Yamal remained influential, using his movement and technical ability to create space and opportunities for his teammates.

Barcelona moved ahead again through Gabriel Jesus in the 51st minute, although another effort was later ruled out for offside. Real Betis responded two minutes later when Abde Ezzalzouli found the net to reduce the deficit to 3-2.

However, Barcelona strengthened their advantage in the 62nd minute as Eric Garcia headed home from Pau Cubarsi's delivery. Dani Olmo then completed the scoring in the 81st minute after combining with a teammate before firing home from outside the penalty area.

Yamal's goal, assist and constant threat in attack made him one of Barcelona's most influential players on the day. His impressive contribution helped the Catalan side dominate crucial moments of the encounter and secure an important victory over Real Betis.
