According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday October 18, 2026, Chelsea forward Pedro Neto has revealed how Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus helped him improve his finishing after scoring twice in the Blues’ 2-0 Premier League victory over Everton.
Neto was the star of the encounter at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, October 17, as Chelsea secured all three points away from home. The Portuguese winger credited Jesus with giving him valuable advice on how to become more composed in front of goal.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Neto explained that the Portugal coach had encouraged him to prioritise accuracy rather than relying solely on power when attempting to score.
“This comes a little bit from the new coach of the national team, who says when you are near the area, you need to pass to the goal, so really happy with that,” Neto said.
The forward’s comments suggest that Jesus’ advice has helped him focus on placing his shots more carefully in goal-scoring situations. Neto expressed satisfaction with his progress after his impressive display against Everton.
Beyond his goals, the Chelsea attacker also highlighted the importance of keeping a clean sheet, praising the team’s overall performance and determination to win a difficult away fixture.
“We required a clean sheet, to be frank. I believe we delivered an excellent performance. Emi merited this achievement, as did Mike. It carries considerable importance,” he said.
Neto acknowledged that away matches in the Premier League are rarely straightforward but insisted Chelsea approached the encounter with the right mentality.
“We recognise that away fixtures present challenges; even domestic matches offer no guarantees of ease."
The victory gave Chelsea a valuable boost, while Neto’s brace highlighted the impact of the finishing advice he received from Jesus. The winger will now hope to maintain his scoring form as Chelsea continue their Premier League campaign.
