Carlo Ancelotti threatens Barcelona again with possible Raphinha Brazil recall after muscle injury

According to a report by Barca Universal on Saturday October 17, 2026, Barcelona could face fresh concerns over Raphinha’s fitness after Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti reportedly considers calling up the winger for the national team’s November friendlies, despite his recent muscle injury.

According to reports, Ancelotti is preparing to announce his squad on October 29 for Brazil’s upcoming matches against Japan on November 14 and Singapore on November 17. Both games will take place at the National Stadium of Singapore, meaning Raphinha could face another long journey shortly after returning from injury.

The potential call-up is an unwelcome development for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, who has only recently welcomed the Brazilian captain back into the squad. The winger is an important part of Barcelona’s attacking setup, and the club will want him to regain full fitness without suffering another setback

Raphinha picked up the muscle injury while representing Brazil against Australia in Brisbane. He was forced off at half-time, although he managed to score from the penalty spot before leaving the pitch. Brazil eventually won the friendly 4-2.

His absence was felt by Barcelona, as he missed the club’s 3-0 La Liga victory over Getafe and their 4-1 Champions League win against Galatasaray in Istanbul. Flick has since received a boost, with the winger obtaining medical clearance and returning to the squad for the meeting with Real Betis.

However, another international commitment could interrupt his efforts to regain match sharpness. Travelling to Singapore for two friendlies would also involve a demanding journey, raising concerns about his workload and recovery.

Brazil are scheduled to face Japan on November 14 before taking on Singapore three days later. Ancelotti’s squad announcement will determine whether Raphinha is included, with Barcelona likely to monitor the situation closely if he receives a call-up.

For Flick, the priority will be ensuring that his captain can contribute consistently during a demanding period of the season. Although Barcelona have managed to secure positive results without him, Raphinha’s return provides another important attacking option.
