According to a report by BBC SPORT on Wednesday November 4, 2026, Jude Bellingham delivered an impressive performance as Real Madrid secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over AEK Athens in their Champions League clash.
The England international played an important role in Madrid's attacking display, scoring a brilliant goal and contributing significantly to their comeback after falling behind.
Real Madrid started the match with attacking intentions, but AEK Athens took the lead in the 12th minute through Aboubakary Koita. The hosts punished Madrid's defensive vulnerability, leaving the visitors with work to do. Bellingham attempted to respond in the 11th minute with a powerful effort from outside the penalty area, but his shot was blocked.
The midfielder eventually found the breakthrough in the 32nd minute. After a well-worked attacking move involving Marc Cucurella, Bellingham produced a clever back-heel finish to bring Real Madrid level at 1-1. His excellent positioning and composure inside the penalty area demonstrated his attacking instincts.
Bellingham continued to influence proceedings after the restart, helping Madrid maintain their attacking pressure as they searched for another goal. His movement and involvement in the midfield gave the visitors additional attacking options. He also attempted a long-range effort in the 69th minute, although his shot went wide of the target.
AEK Athens regained the advantage in the 75th minute through Stavro Pilo, putting Madrid under pressure once again. However, Kylian Mbappe restored parity three minutes later after receiving a precise pass from Denzel Dumfries.
Real Madrid eventually completed their comeback in stoppage time. Federico Valverde struck a superb winning goal in the 90+2nd minute after receiving an assist from Brahim Diaz.
Although Bellingham was substituted in the 86th minute, his earlier contribution proved important in Madrid's victory. His equalising goal and overall attacking influence earned him the Man of the Match Award
