Real Madrid left Barcelona with three valuable points after Kylian Mbappe scored twice in a tense El Clasico on Sunday. Barcelona fought back through Raphinha in the second half, but Madrid had the final say when Mbappe struck again in the 87th minute to secure a 2-1 win at Spotify Camp Nou. The defeat ended Barcelona’s perfect start to the La Liga season and brought their rivals much closer in the title race.

Mbappe Gives Real Madrid the Lead

The opening half was closely contested, with both sides looking for gaps in the opposition defence. Real Madrid gradually found more space going forward, and Mbappe made the most of it in the 41st minute.

Madrid worked the ball into the box, where a low delivery troubled Barcelona’s defence. Gerard Martin tried to clear it, but it deflected off Mbappe and into the net. The goal gave Madrid the lead, although Barcelona nearly responded before half-time when Lamine Yamal missed a good opportunity.

Madrid went into the break ahead, leaving Barcelona with work to do after a difficult first half.

Raphinha Brings Barcelona Back

Barcelona came out with more urgency after the interval and began putting Madrid under pressure. Their efforts paid off in the 61st minute, when Raphinha found the equaliser.

Pedri helped create the opening with a clever pass into the penalty area, allowing Raphinha to fire past goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. The home crowd responded, and Barcelona looked capable of completing the comeback.

Lunin then produced an important save to deny Gerard Martin from a header. Barcelona had chances to take control, but they could not find a second goal during their strongest spell of the match.

Mbappe Strikes Again Late On

Just when a draw seemed possible, Madrid found the winner. Jude Bellingham started the move with a brilliant piece of skill, helping the visitors break forward. Eduardo Camavinga carried the attack into the box before setting up Mbappe, who finished into an unguarded net.

The goal sparked wild celebrations from Madrid’s players and manager Jose Mourinho. Mbappe’s second strike settled the contest and gave Madrid a win that could prove important in the title race.

Barcelona missed the chance to move further clear at the top, while Madrid cut the gap to three points. For Mbappe, the brace was another statement performance in one of football’s biggest fixtures.
