On a day in which Milan’s first team, Futuro and Primavera sides all play, things have started on the right note.
After a tough run of recent results in the league, the Primavera managed to build on their mid-week cup win with a strong performance against last weekend Monza, winning 5-0 away from home. Max Anastasio, Mattia Zaramella (x2), Riccardo Grassini and Yanis Messaoudi scored in that rout.
So, returning home to the PUMA House of Football, the challenge was to build on that result. The response was resounding: Giovanni Renna’s side won 5-1 against AlbinoLeffe in the early kick-off.
Milan took the lead after five minutes with a fine goal from Balentien, and the second goal came in the tenth minute through Vincent Ibrahimovic, who capitalized on a defensive error.
The visitors pulled one back in the 30th minute through Gamba, but in the 36th minute the Rossoneri reopened their two-goal advantage as Ibrahimovic got his name on the scoresheet again, curling one around the goalkeeper from inside the box.
In the second half, Anastasio scored the fourth goal on the hour mark following a cross from Angelicchio, and in the 68th minute Zaramella sealed the deal with an easy one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
The win puts Milan in sixth place in the table on 16 points, and they are now just five points off Parma in top spot, and three behind both Roma and Inter who occupy second and third at the moment. Next up is a trip to face Lazio after the break, the team currently in the place above them.
