Pitso Mosimane Explains Why He Included Injured Teboho Mokoena and Ronwen Williams

Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has explained his decision to include Teboho Mokoena and Ronwen Williams in his latest squad despite concerns surrounding their fitness.

The two influential South African internationals are currently carrying injuries, raising questions about their availability for the national team's upcoming assignments. However, Mosimane believes there is no need to make immediate changes before the medical team completes its assessment.

Speaking about the situation, the Bafana Bafana coach stressed that both players remain important members of the national team because of their experience, leadership and contributions on the pitch.

Mosimane explained that the technical team wants to give the medical department enough time to determine whether the players can recover in time before making a final decision about their participation.

"They are very important players for us, and we will wait for the doctors to rule them out; then we can bring other players," Mosimane said.

The coach further indicated that football requires patience when dealing with injury concerns, adding that teams should not abandon hope until a final medical decision has been reached.

Mokoena's possible absence would be a concern for Bafana Bafana, considering his importance in midfield. The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder brings energy, defensive discipline and the ability to control proceedings in the middle of the park.

Meanwhile, Williams remains one of the most experienced figures in the national team. The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper has established himself as an important leader and has played a significant role in South Africa's recent international campaigns.

Losing both players would present a challenge for Mosimane, especially with the national team preparing for important fixtures.

Nevertheless, the coach's decision leaves the door open for the two stars to recover and potentially join their teammates if they receive medical clearance.

If either player is eventually ruled out, Mosimane will have to consider alternative options to ensure that Bafana Bafana remain adequately covered in the affected positions.

For now, all attention is on the medical assessments as South African supporters wait for a final update on the availability of Mokoena and Williams.
