Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has opened his scoring account in Syria after finding the net for Al-Karamah SC in the Syrian Premier League.
The forward, nicknamed the “Black Panther”, scored as Al-Karamah secured a 2-1 victory over Qamishli SC, a result that propelled the club to the top of the league standings.
Bimenyimana’s goal marks an encouraging start to his campaign in Syrian football as he looks to establish himself at his new club. The striker previously represented South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, where he attracted attention for his physical presence and ability to threaten opposition defences.
His latest contribution will provide a boost for Al-Karamah as they continue their league campaign and aim to maintain their position among the competition’s leading teams.
The 2-1 victory was particularly important for the Syrian side, with the three points helping them move into first place in the standings. However, maintaining that position will require consistent performances as the season progresses.
For Bimenyimana, scoring early could prove valuable in building confidence and securing a more influential role within the team.
The Burundian striker will now hope to build on this performance, contribute more goals and help Al-Karamah sustain their challenge for honours in Syria.
His progress will also be of interest to South African football followers who remember his spell with Kaizer Chiefs.
