Former Bafana Bafana international has shared an unusual story about the strict disciplinary measures introduced by renowned football coach Pitso Mosimane, revealing that the experienced tactician once fined a player for eating amagwinya.

The surprising incident was discussed during the latest episode of Locker Room Secrets, where the former South African international spoke to KickOff about some of the unexpected rules Mosimane enforced throughout his coaching career.

According to the revelation, Mosimane placed enormous importance on players' fitness, nutrition and overall professionalism. His strict approach reportedly extended beyond the training ground, with players expected to follow specific dietary guidelines to maintain their physical condition and perform at the highest level.

One player allegedly found himself facing a financial penalty after eating amagwinya, a popular South African fried dough snack. Although the snack is enjoyed by many people across the country, it apparently did not meet Mosimane's nutritional expectations for his footballers.

The story offers an interesting insight into the demanding coaching philosophy of Mosimane, who has enjoyed considerable success with clubs such as Mamelodi Sundowns and Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Throughout his career, the coach has built a reputation for demanding discipline, commitment, fitness and professionalism from his players. He believes that maintaining high standards away from the pitch is just as important as delivering strong performances during matches.

The revelation has also sparked interest in the different methods football coaches use to maintain discipline within their squads.

However, the former Bafana Bafana player did not reveal the identity of the footballer involved or disclose how much Mosimane allegedly charged as a fine.

Nevertheless, the amusing incident provides another glimpse into the strict standards and unique management style that have become part of Mosimane's coaching reputation.
