"I Can See That There Is A Growing Agenda Out there That I Hate Oswin Appollis" Abdeslam Ouaddou Says

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has responded to growing speculation surrounding his relationship with winger Oswin Appollis, firmly dismissing suggestions that he has a personal dislike for the player.

The Moroccan tactician addressed the situation after questions emerged about Appollis’ reduced playing time, with some supporters expressing concerns about why the winger has not been featuring as regularly as expected.

Ouaddou made it clear that there is no personal disagreement between them, describing Appollis as one of the players he values highly within his squad. He also suggested that decisions regarding the winger’s involvement are influenced by the club’s ambitions and concerns about player fitness.

“I can see that there is a growing agenda out there that I hate Oswin Appollis. I don’t hate Appollis. He is my diamond,” Ouaddou said.

The Pirates coach further explained that he has important objectives to achieve with the Soweto giants, particularly their ambition to compete for continental honours.

According to Ouaddou, winning the CAF Champions League remains one of his major priorities, and protecting key players from unnecessary injuries is an important part of achieving that goal.

“I have a Champions League to win. I need to protect him, especially when I see a risk of injury,” he added.

His comments suggest that Appollis’ limited involvement should not necessarily be interpreted as evidence of tension between the player and his coach.

Managing players’ workloads is particularly important for clubs competing across multiple competitions, where injuries and fatigue can affect performance throughout the season.

For Orlando Pirates supporters, Ouaddou’s explanation provides some reassurance that Appollis remains part of his plans despite concerns about his reduced game time.

The winger is regarded as an important attacking option, and keeping him fit could prove valuable as the club pursues its domestic and continental ambitions.

Ultimately, Ouaddou appears focused on balancing individual player management with the team’s objectives, insisting that his decisions are based on football considerations rather than personal feelings.
