Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch could become a free agent during the next transfer window as uncertainty continues over his future at Libyan club Al Ittihad.
The 33-year-old has reportedly been left out of recent league squads by head coach Fouazi Benzarti, fuelling speculation that the player and the club could be heading towards a mutual separation.
Lorch was previously linked with a move to Moroccan side Mas Fes, the reigning Botola Pro champions, who recently signed South African duo Tshegofatso Mabasa and Devin Titus. However, negotiations reportedly collapsed after the parties failed to reach an agreement on personal terms.
Reports from Libya have also suggested that clubs in Egypt and Algeria are monitoring the experienced winger's situation.
Lorch joined Al Ittihad from Wydad Athletic Club shortly before Rulani Mokwena's appointment at the Libyan outfit. Mokwena later departed after the club failed to secure CAF Champions League qualification and has since enjoyed an impressive start at Egyptian side Pyramids FC.
A potential return to Wydad was also discussed, following Lorch's resurgence under Mokwena, but the Moroccan club reportedly never submitted an official offer.
His substantial salary package in Libya may have complicated negotiations with Mas Fes, leaving his next destination uncertain ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
