Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has praised Sipho Chaine, Deon Hotto and Nkosinathi Sibisi for their leadership qualities, highlighting their importance in keeping the team organised during matches.

The coach made the remarks following the Buccaneers' 1-0 victory over African Stars, emphasising that leadership throughout the squad is essential to maintaining discipline, communication and concentration, particularly during challenging moments.

Ouaddou believes experienced players have an important responsibility to guide their teammates on the pitch, especially when the noise inside the stadium makes it difficult for players to hear instructions from the technical team.

Chaine, Hotto and Sibisi have been identified as key figures in this regard, using their experience to communicate with teammates and help maintain the team's structure. Their contributions allow Pirates to remain organised and focused while dealing with pressure from their opponents.

As a goalkeeper, Chaine has a valuable role in communicating with defenders and monitoring the team's defensive shape. His position gives him a clear view of the action, allowing him to provide instructions and alert teammates to potential dangers.

Hotto and Sibisi also bring experience and leadership to their respective areas of the pitch. Their ability to communicate effectively can help players understand their responsibilities and respond quickly when the team needs to adjust its approach.

For Ouaddou, leadership is not the responsibility of the captain alone. He expects players in different positions to take initiative, support their teammates and ensure that tactical instructions are followed throughout the match.

Pirates' narrow victory over African Stars demonstrated the importance of concentration and teamwork in securing positive results. In closely contested matches, maintaining organisation can make the difference between collecting three points and dropping valuable points.

As the Buccaneers continue their campaign, Ouaddou will want these leadership qualities to remain evident throughout the squad. With Chaine, Hotto and Sibisi helping to organise their teammates, Pirates will hope to maintain the discipline and unity required to compete successfully on both domestic and continental fronts.
