"I Was Worried If I Would Ever Be Back In The Team And Now, I’m Back With The Guys" Mvala Says

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mothobi Mvala has spoken about the difficult period he went through while recovering from a long-term injury, revealing that he sometimes feared he might never play for the club again.

The experienced centre-back admitted that spending a long time away from his teammates was emotionally challenging, especially because he was unsure whether he would be able to return to professional football and continue his career at Sundowns.

However, rejoining the squad has brought him great happiness after several months of rehabilitation and uncertainty about his future.

Reflecting on his return, Mvala explained how much it means to be back with his teammates and take part in the club's activities after such a difficult period.

"I was worried if I would ever be back in the team and now, I'm back with the guys. The feeling is amazing," Mvala said.

His comments reveal the emotional difficulties players can experience when dealing with serious injuries. Apart from the physical demands of rehabilitation, being away from the team and worrying about losing one's position can also affect a player's confidence and mental well-being.

While Mvala was recovering, Sundowns continued their campaign in domestic and continental competitions without the services of the experienced defender.

His return is therefore a welcome development for the Tshwane-based club, as head coach Miguel Cardoso now has another experienced option to strengthen his defence as the team continues its pursuit of trophies this season.

Mvala will now be focused on regaining his full fitness, improving his match sharpness and working towards securing a regular place in the team.

Having previously feared that his time at Sundowns could be over, the defender can now look forward to sharing the pitch with his teammates again.

For Mvala, returning to the squad is not just another step in his football career but also a personal achievement after months of uncertainty and a difficult recovery journey.
