Kaizer Chiefs continued their impressive start to the 2026/27 DStv Diski Challenge campaign after recording a 3-1 victory over AmaZulu on Saturday, November 7, to maintain their position at the top of the league standings.
The victory at Dobsonville Stadium marked Chiefs’ seventh consecutive win in seven matches, extending their perfect record and strengthening their position as early title favourites.
Young striker Neo Bohloko was the standout performer, scoring twice in the first half to give Amakhosi a comfortable 2-0 advantage. His goals took his tally to eight in seven league appearances, making him one of the leading attacking players in the competition.
AmaZulu attempted to fight their way back into the contest after pulling a goal back in the second half. However, Chiefs responded through Kamohelo Malefo, who scored the third goal to secure all three points for coach Vela Khumalo’s team.
The result moved Chiefs to 21 points, leaving them eight points ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United, who were both on 13 points with a match in hand at the time of the standings update.
Defending champions Orlando Pirates were also among the teams chasing the leaders, but their reserve side had collected 10 points from six matches before Sunday's fixtures.
Chiefs have also demonstrated impressive attacking strength, scoring 22 goals and conceding just six in their opening seven matches.
With seven victories from seven outings, Amakhosi have established themselves as the team to beat. Their consistency will now be tested as the campaign progresses, with Sundowns, Pirates and other challengers seeking to close the gap.
