Llechryd beat Hay St Marys 6-0 in Emrys Morgan Cup

Hay St Marys play in the Mid Wales League South and came into this one with two wins and a defeat in their last three games.

Llechryd had won their last four games in all competitions and were confident of extending that run.

Neither side could find a goal in the first half and they went in at the break with the score still at 0-0.

However, just a minute into the second half Llechryd took the lead as Liam Doherty scored his first goal of the game.

Matty White then set up Rhydian Davies to score four minutes later to make it 2-0 to the visitors.

With just over an hour played, Llion Williams found Craig Gordon, who scored Llechryd’s third goal.

Liam Doherty then grabbed his second to make it 4-0 with 20 minutes left to play.

Elliot Jones added their fifth goal in the 76th minute as they ultimately proved too strong for their opponents in the second half.

Doherty had the final say in the game as he scored Llechryd’s sixth goal to complete his hat-trick.

On Saturday, October 24, Llechryd are in action in the Ceredigion Premier Division as they host Llanboidy.
