According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, November 8, 2026, Liverpool produced an impressive performance to secure a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace, overcoming periods of pressure from the home side. Alexis Mac Allister, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak were on target for the visitors, while Eddie Nketiah scored a late consolation penalty for Palace.
Liverpool made a positive start and created several chances through Dominik Szoboszlai, whose attempts tested Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson. Mac Allister also threatened with a header from a free-kick delivery, while Bradley Barcola missed another promising opportunity as the visitors looked to take control of the game.
Palace gradually grew into the contest and came close to opening the scoring when Yeremy Pino struck the crossbar in the 18th minute. Quinten Timber and Daichi Kamada also tested Liverpool's defence, but Alisson made important saves to keep the hosts at bay.
Crystal Palace thought they had levelled the score through Jorgen Larsen in the 33rd minute, but a VAR review ruled out the goal because of an offside offence during the build-up.
Liverpool took advantage of the decision and opened the scoring in the 40th minute through Mac Allister.
Szoboszlai delivered a dangerous free-kick into the penalty area, allowing the Argentine midfielder to rise above the defenders and guide a close-range header into the net.
The visitors maintained their advantage until half-time, despite Henderson producing an important save to deny Ronald Araujo from close range.
Liverpool extended their lead shortly after the restart when Wirtz found the net in the 54th minute. The German midfielder received an excellent pass from Barcola before calmly directing a low effort into the bottom-left corner.
The visitors continued to create opportunities as Palace searched for a response through their attacking players. However, Alisson remained alert and produced another impressive save in the 77th minute after Pino found space inside the penalty area.
Isak made the victory more comfortable in the 89th minute when his effort from inside the penalty area took a deflection before finding the back of the net.
Crystal Palace were handed a late opportunity to reduce the deficit after Milos Kerkez conceded a penalty during stoppage time.
Nketiah stepped up in the 95th minute and converted from the spot, beating Alisson to make it 3-1.
However, the hosts had little time to search for another goal as the referee brought the match to an end shortly afterwards, confirming an important victory for Liverpool.
