Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1 in the 10th round of the 2026-2027 Spanish La Liga away match held at Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain, on October 26. The victory avenged defeats suffered in the Super Cup final earlier this year and in the final match of the previous season against Barcelona. This marked Real Madrid’s first El Clásico win in approximately a year since October of last year.

The opening goal came in the 41st minute of the first half. Yan Diemangde’s pass into the Barcelona penalty area was cleared by defender Gerard Martin, but the ball deflected off Mbappé, who was charging toward the goal, and curled into the net.

Barcelona mounted a fierce counterattack in the second half. In the 16th minute, Pedri threaded a precise through ball between defenders from the edge of the penalty area, and Barcelona captain Raphinha slotted it home with a clinical left-footed finish to equalize.

The deadlock was broken in stoppage time by Mbappé’s decisive goal. In the 42nd minute of the second half, during a counterattack, Eduardo Camavinga surged down the right flank, bypassed the goalkeeper, and played a back pass to Mbappé, who was charging into the box. Mbappé calmly slotted the ball into the net with his right foot, securing a thrilling away win at Camp Nou.

With this goal, Mbappé extended his El Clásico tally to eight goals in seven appearances, reaffirming his status as Barcelona’s nemesis. He also reached his 100th goal for Real Madrid. Having scored 11 league goals this season, Mbappé is now two goals behind Raphinha, who leads the scoring chart with 13.

Real Madrid extended its winning streak to five consecutive official matches, including three straight league victories. With 8 wins and 2 losses (24 points), it remains in third place, narrowing the gap to league leader Barcelona (27 points, 9 wins, 1 loss) to three points. Atlético Madrid, Lee Kang-in’s team, sits in second place with 8 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss (25 points).

Barcelona, which had been aiming to set a new record for the longest unbeaten start to a La Liga season with nine consecutive wins, saw its bid halted by its first home defeat of the season. The loss followed a 2-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on October 21, extending its losing streak to two official matches.
