Arteta drops hint on Arsenal January transfer strategy amid Antonio Nusa interest

According to a report by Football London on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has suggested that the upcoming international break could help the club gather important information about potential January transfer targets, amid their reported interest in RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa.

The Gunners are understood to be tracking the 21-year-old Norwegian international ahead of the winter transfer window, while Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi is also reportedly being considered as a possible addition to the squad.

Arsenal currently lead the Premier League table ahead of their meeting with Hull City and could look to strengthen their squad when the January transfer window opens.

The international break could offer the North London club an opportunity to assess some of their targets in a different setting before deciding whether to pursue potential deals.

Nusa is expected to join the Norway national team during the break, where he will feature alongside Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.

Norway are scheduled to face Wales and Denmark, giving Arsenal an opportunity to monitor the Leipzig winger and assess how he combines with their captain on the international stage.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Arteta acknowledged that international matches could provide useful information for the club's recruitment team.

The Spaniard explained that speaking with players who have shared dressing rooms and training sessions with potential targets could offer valuable insights into their abilities and character.

He also pointed out that international football provides a different environment from the Premier League, allowing clubs to gather additional information when assessing players.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could face competition for Nusa's signature, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly considering options on the left wing following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's injury.

The Norwegian winger has enjoyed an impressive season with Leipzig, recording five goals and seven assists so far.

His performances have attracted growing attention ahead of the January transfer window, with the 21-year-old on course to produce the most productive campaign of his career.

Nusa previously came close to joining Brentford, but the proposed transfer collapsed after concerns emerged during his medical examination.

The winger later explained that both parties had been worried about the situation before further tests established that there was no underlying problem.

Arsenal will continue evaluating their options ahead of January, with Nusa remaining among the players attracting interest from the Premier League leaders.
