According to a report by FootballTransfers on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Barcelona have no plans to sell Fermin López despite renewed interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been an important attacking contributor, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists last season. He has also made an impressive start to the current campaign, recording five goals and four assists.
Although competition for places at Barcelona has occasionally limited López’s starting opportunities, the club rejected a reported €40 million offer from Chelsea last year.
The midfielder was also unwilling to leave and subsequently signed a new contract that keeps him at the club until 2031.
Transfer speculation has resurfaced, with reports suggesting Chelsea could return with an improved offer. Manchester United have also reportedly made initial enquiries about López, alongside Atlético Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios.
However, Romano insists that Barcelona regard López as an important part of their plans and that the player is happy at the club.
“Fermin López is absolutely untouchable for Barcelona,” Romano said in a video posted on X.
He further indicated that neither a potential transfer fee nor interest from Premier League clubs is expected to change Barcelona’s position.
According to Romano, the Spanish midfielder remains central to the club’s present and future plans, with no intention of moving to England.
