Como release official Nico Paz transfer statement

According to a report by FootballTransfers on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Como sporting director Carlalberto Ludi has responded to growing speculation about Nico Paz’s future, insisting that the Argentine midfielder remains fully committed to the Italian club despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal.

The 22 year old has attracted attention following a series of impressive performances in Serie A and the Champions League, establishing himself as one of Como’s most influential players under manager Cesc Fabregas.

Paz delivered another outstanding performance on Wednesday, helping Como secure a remarkable 9-1 victory over French side Lens.

However, his continued development has increased speculation about a possible return to Real Madrid, who retain an option to re-sign the midfielder.

Speaking to Radio Radio, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Ludi admitted that recurring reports about Real Madrid’s interest in former players have become something the club must manage.

“I put myself in Como fans' shoes because every November and March, whether due to journalistic speculation or other reasons, it always turns out that Real Madrid is bringing back all their players. This year, there's talk of Jacobo Ramon,” he said.

Real Madrid reportedly hold an €80 million buy-back option on Paz that can be activated during the summer 2027 transfer window.

The Spanish giants initially sold the midfielder to Como for approximately €6 million in 2024 before the Italian club later secured his full rights in a reported €60 million agreement.

Despite the possibility of a significant financial return if Paz leaves, Ludi stressed that the player remains firmly part of Como’s plans.

“The truth is that we made a good deal last summer,” he said.

“Nico Paz is 100% a Como player. Real Madrid retained a buy back option by a certain date during the transfer window, as is normal. It would be a sale that would enhance our work and would also be important for the club.”

Ludi also emphasised the positive relationship between Como and Real Madrid, suggesting that both clubs would handle any potential transfer situation professionally.

Paz previously had an opportunity to return to the Bernabeu but reportedly chose to remain in Italy because of concerns about securing regular first-team opportunities.

That issue could influence his decision again next summer, particularly given the competition for attacking midfield positions at Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Como will hope to retain the Argentine as they continue to build their project around his growing influence.
