Real Madrid Can Re-sign Former Academy Graduate For €10m Amid Man Utd's And Chelsea Interest

Real Madrid could exercise their contractual option to bring former academy defender Jacobo Ramón back to the Santiago Bernabéu for approximately €10 million, potentially beating competition from several Premier League clubs. According to a report by Madrid Universal on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all monitoring the Como centre-back ahead of the summer 2027 transfer window.

Ramón has attracted growing attention following his impressive performances in Italy, where he has developed into an important member of Cesc Fàbregas' defensive setup. His progress has reportedly placed him on the recruitment lists of several English clubs, with Manchester United believed to be particularly interested in securing his services.

According to AS, United have shown the strongest interest in the 21-year-old, although Chelsea and Liverpool are also following his situation. The three clubs are understood to be considering their defensive options as they assess potential additions for future transfer windows.

Ramón has enjoyed a productive campaign with Como, making 14 appearances and contributing three goals and two assists. His performances have demonstrated his growing influence at the Italian club, while his development has attracted attention beyond the domestic league.

The defender's progress has also earned him his first call-up to Spain's senior national team. That recognition has further strengthened his reputation as one of the promising young centre-backs emerging in European football.

Despite the increasing interest, Ramón is not expected to leave Como during the January transfer window. His future is more likely to become a major subject of transfer discussions next summer, when interested clubs could consider formal approaches.

United are reportedly leading the pursuit in terms of their monitoring, but Chelsea and Liverpool remain potential competitors. However, Real Madrid have an important advantage that could make negotiations difficult for the English sides.

When Ramón moved from Madrid to Como for approximately €2.5 million, the Spanish club negotiated favourable conditions as part of the agreement. Madrid retained 50 per cent of his economic rights and included a buy-back clause reportedly valued at around €10 million.

That arrangement gives the European giants the opportunity to re-sign their former academy graduate for a relatively modest fee compared with what competing clubs might be prepared to offer. It also places Madrid in a strong position to influence the defender's next career move.

The club's defensive planning could provide another reason to consider bringing Ramón back. Antonio Rüdiger's current contract is due to expire in 2027, meaning his future could create a vacancy that Madrid would need to address.

Should the German defender leave, Ramón is reportedly viewed as a leading candidate to strengthen the centre-back department. His familiarity with Madrid's academy system and his progress in Italy could make a return an attractive option.

Nevertheless, Madrid are expected to continue assessing his performances at Como before reaching a final decision. Éder Militão, Dean Huijsen and Ibrahima Konaté are also expected to feature in the club's defensive plans.

With several clubs interested and Madrid holding favourable contractual terms, Ramón's future could become one of the notable defensive transfer stories of summer 2027. His performances between now and then are likely to remain important in determining whether he returns to Spain or pursues an opportunity in the Premier League.
