According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday October 30, 2026, Barcelona officials are reportedly surprised by Carlo Ancelotti's decision to include Raphinha in Brazil's squad for the November international break despite the winger still recovering from injury.

The Catalan club are concerned that another demanding international assignment could affect the captain's fitness and availability for upcoming matches.

Raphinha enjoyed an impressive beginning to the season, producing outstanding performances and scoring consecutive hat-tricks for Barcelona. However, his momentum was interrupted after he joined Brazil for international duty.

Ancelotti heavily relied on the Barcelona captain during Brazil's matches against Australia. The demanding workload eventually resulted in a thigh injury that forced him to miss several matches after the international break.

Although Raphinha has returned to action, he has struggled to reproduce the outstanding form he displayed before suffering the setback.

According to an exclusive report from The Touchline, Barcelona are astonished that Ancelotti has selected the winger again despite his incomplete recovery. The club reportedly believe he is not yet physically ready to handle another demanding international assignment.

Their concerns are understandable given Raphinha's previous injury problems while representing Brazil. The winger has repeatedly struggled with his fitness after international appearances, raising questions about how his playing time is managed.

Following the recent El Clasico, Hansi Flick revealed that Raphinha had requested to be substituted because his body could no longer handle the physical demands. The German manager prioritised his player's fitness rather than risk aggravating the situation.

Brazil will face two opponents in Singapore on November 14 and 17. Raphinha could also face a journey of approximately 11,000 kilometres for the friendlies.

Barcelona are particularly concerned about the unnecessary physical demands placed on their captain. Their frustration could increase because Palmeiras and Flamengo players have reportedly been excluded from the squad to respect their domestic commitments.

The situation leaves Barcelona hoping Raphinha returns without suffering another injury.
