Dowman and Odegaard start, Gyokeres call amid seven changes - Arsenal line-ups vs Slavia Praha

Arsenal are expected to make several adjustments to their starting line-up when they take on Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League, with young forward Max Dowman and captain Martin Odegaard among the players tipped to be included.

According to a report by Football London on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the Gunners could make as many as seven changes as manager Mikel Arteta attempts to manage his squad while maintaining the team's impressive run in Europe.

Arsenal head into the encounter in Czechia after recording an important 1-0 Premier League victory over Liverpool at Anfield. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the match, helping the reigning champions return to the top of the league table.

The victory also offered a positive response to their disappointing elimination from the Carabao Cup against Fleetwood Town. However, Arteta will want his players to remain focused as they continue competing on different fronts.

The North London club have maintained an impressive record in the Champions League league phase, with their last defeat coming against Inter Milan in November 2024, when they lost 1-0.

Football London reporters Tom Canton and Ryan Taylor have provided their respective predictions for Arsenal's starting line-up against Slavia Prague, with both anticipating several changes to the team.

Canton believes Arteta should be careful not to make too many alterations, particularly after Arsenal experienced difficulties when making wholesale changes against Fleetwood Town.

He expects David Raya to start in goal, with Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie forming the defensive line. Odegaard is also expected to feature in midfield, where his creativity could be important.

Canton's predicted Arsenal line-up is Raya; White, Konsa, Mosquera, Hincapie; Martin Zubimendi, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Odegaard; Max Dowman, Viktor Gyokeres and Christos Tzolis.

He also believes Dowman should be given the opportunity to make history by becoming Arsenal's youngest-ever player to start a Champions League match.

Despite receiving a domestic suspension following his red card against Fleetwood, the youngster remains eligible to feature in European competitions.

Ryan Taylor, however, expects Arteta to make more significant changes after the physically demanding Premier League encounter against Liverpool.

He believes Gabriel Magalhaes could keep his place in central defence, although he has suggested that the Brazilian might only play the first half before being substituted.

Taylor also believes Bruno Guimaraes needs to produce better performances after being taken off around the 60-minute mark in each of his last three Premier League starts.

He expects Lewis-Skelly to be included from the beginning after impressing during his appearance at Anfield. Eberechi Eze and Dowman are also tipped to provide attacking options from the wide areas.

Taylor's predicted starting XI is Raya; White, Mosquera, Gabriel, Hincapie; Guimaraes, Lewis-Skelly; Dowman, Merino, Eze; Gyokeres.

Viktor Gyokeres is another player expected to benefit from the potential changes, as the striker will be looking to use the opportunity to impress after struggling to produce consistent performances in several of his previous starts this season.
