According to a report by BBC Sports on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Julio Enciso produced a moment of brilliance to rescue a point for Ipswich Town in an entertaining Premier League encounter against Hull City at the MKM Stadium.
The Paraguayan attacking midfielder struck a superb left-footed effort into the top corner from 20 yards with 16 minutes remaining, cancelling out Hull’s second-half comeback and denying the hosts their first league victory since August.
Ipswich had dominated the opening half and deservedly took the lead through Florentino Luis, but Hull responded impressively after the break to turn the contest around. Tim Iroegbunam equalised for the Tigers before Oli McBurnie put them ahead with a free-kick. However, Enciso’s spectacular effort ensured the points were shared.
The result extended Hull’s winless run to seven league matches and eight games in all competitions. Despite their recent struggles, Sergej Jakirovic’s side have lost only twice in the league and remain in the top half of the table, ahead of Gary O’Neil’s Ipswich on goal difference.
Ipswich will be pleased to have recovered a point after falling behind, although their dominance in the first half may leave them disappointed that they did not secure all three. The visitors started strongly and created several promising opportunities before taking the lead.
Their pressure eventually paid off when Abdoul Ouattara beat his marker and played a pass into Florentino Luis, who unleashed a powerful finish to put Ipswich ahead. Ipswich briefly thought they had doubled their advantage from a corner when Enciso headed the ball into the net. However, the goal was disallowed after a foul on McBurnie earlier in the move.
Hull struggled to make an impact during the first half, but the hosts returned from the interval with a much-improved attitude and greater attacking intent. Their response produced an equaliser just before the hour mark. McBurnie found Iroegbunam with a pass, and the midfielder beat the offside trap before advancing into the penalty area.
The Ipswich defence offered little resistance, allowing him time to move forward and fire past goalkeeper Christian Walton. It was Iroegbunam’s first Premier League goal. Hull continued to build momentum after equalising and completed their comeback 10 minutes later.
McBurnie stepped up to take a free-kick from just outside the penalty area and drove a low effort into the bottom-right corner. Walton was unable to keep it out, although the Ipswich goalkeeper may feel he could have done better. The goal sparked celebrations among the home supporters, who sensed that their team could finally end its disappointing run without a league victory.
However, Hull’s advantage lasted only six minutes. With Ipswich searching for a response, Enciso took matters into his own hands, producing a stunning strike from around 20 yards. The midfielder created the space to shoot before sending a powerful left-footed effort into the top corner, leaving the Hull goalkeeper with no chance.
