According to a report by Madrid Universal on Saturday October 31, 2026, Real Madrid have emerged as the leading contenders to sign Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly falling behind in the race for his signature.
According to reports, the Spanish giants are in a strong position to secure the services of the highly rated 16-year-old, who is said to favour continuing his career in Spain.
Paris Saint-Germain recently made an improved sporting and financial offer to convince Gabriel to join them. However, the youngster reportedly turned down the proposal because of his preference for a move to Spain.
Barcelona have also withdrawn from the race due to the financial demands involved, while Bayern Munich had already abandoned their pursuit.
Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to invest more than €10 million in a three-year package to bring the Manchester United academy prospect to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, an agreement with Manchester United over his departure is still required before any deal can be completed.
Gabriel has attracted attention with his impressive performances at youth level. He scored 20 goals in 21 U-18 Premier League appearances last season and also made an impressive start to his UEFA Youth League campaign by scoring a hat-trick on his debut in September.
His dribbling, creativity and goalscoring ability have made him one of the most exciting young prospects in English football.
Real Madrid are now reportedly leading the race, although the transfer remains uncertain until an agreement is reached with Manchester United.
