Kaizer Chiefs fans have questioned the club’s dressing-room atmosphere after a video showing a heated exchange between Reeve Frosler and Renaldo Leaner surfaced following their 1-0 defeat to Red Arrows in Zambia.

Amakhosi suffered a narrow loss in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie, leaving themselves with work to do ahead of next weekend’s return leg in South Africa.

A late goal handed Red Arrows the advantage going into the second leg, putting pressure on Chiefs to bounce back and keep their hopes of reaching the group stages alive.

Although the match was not televised, videos circulating on social media have offered a glimpse of the drama that unfolded on the pitch.

One clip that has caught the attention of supporters shows Frosler and goalkeeper Leaner exchanging words after the final whistle.

In the video, which is less than 20 seconds long, Frosler appears to point a finger at Leaner before a teammate escorts him away. Leaner also appears to exchange words with the right-back before Bruce Bvuma steps in to calm the situation.

The incident has sparked debate among supporters, with some questioning the leadership within the Chiefs squad and suggesting that the problems at the club run deeper than their latest defeat.

What Kaizer Chiefs fans are saying

One supporter, @Mpillow, claimed that the incident could point to deeper issues within the Amakhosi dressing room.

“Problems at Kaizer Chiefs are much deeper than we think. Abo Frosler wants to issue hands on our new signings instead of encouraging them. Looks like that dressing room is a mess; something has to be done ASAP before we find ourselves in NFD. Sorry Leaner bro,” the fan wrote.

Another supporter, @Vhakhonimajor, called for Frosler to face consequences following the incident.

“If Kaizer Motaung Jnr is fair, Frosler must follow Cele immediately. We don’t need such players, especially during this period,” the supporter commented.

Meanwhile, @kamva____20 questioned the team’s coaching and leadership, suggesting that the club’s struggles extend beyond the players.

“The dressing room is messed up; we have a puppet, not a coach. We play kaak under coaches who don’t know English; we were better last season under those translators who know English and tactics,” the fan wrote.

The defeat to Red Arrows has increased the pressure on Kaizer Chiefs to deliver a strong performance in the return leg as they look to keep their continental campaign alive.

The exchange between Frosler and Leaner has added to the frustration among supporters, although the short video does not establish what sparked the disagreement between the two players.
