Chiefs Fans Make Huge Demand Over Thembinkosi Lorch

Kaizer Chiefs supporters have reignited calls for Thembinkosi Lorch to join the Soweto giants following fresh reports about the attacking midfielder's uncertain future at Libyan club Al-Ittihad.

Lorch, who previously played for Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, has reportedly fallen out of favour with Al-Ittihad head coach Faouzi Benzarti. The developments have fuelled speculation about a possible return to South African football, with sections of the Chiefs faithful believing he could provide the attacking quality the club needs.

The 32-year-old remains one of the most recognisable attacking players to have featured in the Premier Soccer League. During his time in South Africa, he established a reputation for his creativity, technical ability, excellent close control and capacity to produce important moments in the final third.

His ability to operate behind the striker or from wider attacking positions makes him an attractive option for a team seeking additional creativity and attacking depth.

Chiefs have been working towards building a competitive squad capable of challenging consistently for major domestic trophies. Supporters believe bringing in an experienced player like Lorch could strengthen their attacking department while providing valuable experience to younger members of the squad.

However, any potential transfer would involve several complications. Lorch is contracted to Al-Ittihad until June 2027, meaning Chiefs would likely need to negotiate with the Libyan club if they wanted to secure his services before his contract expires.

His salary demands, transfer fee and suitability for the technical team's plans would also need consideration.

Importantly, Chiefs have not announced negotiations or confirmed an interest in signing the former Pirates and Sundowns star. The growing calls for his arrival currently reflect supporters' wishes rather than an official transfer development.

Nevertheless, developments surrounding his situation in Libya could make Lorch an interesting name to watch ahead of future transfer windows.
