Tottenham Hotspur and several of their rivals have been alerted to the possibility that one of the most in-form strikers in Europe could be put up for sale in January.

While Spurs appear to have turned a corner with back-to-back Premier League wins, there are still some concerns over the lack of goals in their forward line.

Dominic Solanke and Omar Marmoush have only found the back of the net once each in the Premier League this term, and reports indicate that Tottenham are working on replacing Richarlison with a new striker in January.

A host of number nines from around Europe are alleged to be on Spurs’ shortlist ahead of the winter, and another potentially golden market opportunity has now reportedly come to the North London club’s attention.

Tottenham are one of a host of clubs attentive to Monaco’s Paris Brunner

According to a report in TEAMtalk, Monaco’s financial situation has alerted Spurs and several other big clubs around Europe to Paris Brunner, who has been prolific at the start of the season.

The 20-year-old was not a regular for the Ligue 1 side last term, but he has now made the number nine spot his own, scoring an impressive eight goals and providing one assist in 10 appearances so far this term.

The report says that Spurs have made trips to France to watch the striker this season, as have London rivals Chelsea. Additionally, Arsenal are also keeping an eye on the German striker’s situation.

Finally, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also very much alert to the possibility of Brunner being put on the shop window as the January window approaches.

Monaco’s financial situation has cast a major shadow over Brunner’s future

TEAMtalk reveal that Monaco had a target of generating around €150m (£130m) in the summer window to balance their books, but they fell well short of that goal.

While the Ligue 1 club did manage to raise €50m (£40m) from Maghnes Akliouche’s move to PSG, they are now under pressure to raise more funds in the upcoming transfer window.

Brunner is one of a number of players who could be let go, with the German U21 international currently being one of the club’s most valuable assets.
