According to a report by BBC SPORT on Saturday October 17, 2026, Pedro Neto delivered a decisive performance for Chelsea as his second-half brace inspired the Blues to a 2-0 victory over Everton in their Premier League clash.
The Portuguese winger broke the deadlock immediately after the restart before sealing the result in the closing stages to give Chelsea all three points.
Chelsea dominated possession during the opening half and created several promising attacking opportunities. However, Everton's defence initially proved difficult to break down. Neto remained involved in Chelsea's attacking play and eventually made the difference with his clinical finishing.
The 26-year-old needed just one minute after the interval to put Chelsea ahead. He received a pass inside the penalty area and fired a powerful shot into the bottom-right corner, leaving Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with little chance of making a save. His goal rewarded Chelsea's attacking pressure and gave the visitors the breakthrough they desperately needed.
Neto continued to threaten Everton's defence as Chelsea looked to extend their advantage. His movement and attacking intent helped the Blues maintain pressure on their opponents, while his ability to find dangerous positions inside the penalty area made him a constant threat.
Chelsea also benefited from Cole Palmer's creativity, with the England international testing Pickford with a powerful effort from the edge of the box in the first half. Moises Caicedo came close to scoring when his first-time effort struck the crossbar in the 41st minute.
Everton attempted to respond, but Emiliano Martinez produced important saves to deny Thierno Barry and keep Chelsea ahead. His interventions proved valuable as the hosts searched for an equaliser.
Neto eventually put the contest beyond Everton in the 90th minute. The winger reacted quickest to a rebound inside the penalty area and drove the ball low into the bottom-right corner to complete his brace.
His two goals demonstrated his composure, positioning and finishing ability at crucial moments. While Chelsea's collective performance contributed to the victory, Neto's decisive contributions made him the standout performer in the thrilling 2-0 win.
