Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has provided an injury update on Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo after his side secured a 3-2 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
According to a report by Metro on Saturday, 17 October 2026, both players were seen limping towards the end of the match at the Etihad Stadium, raising concerns over their availability for Manchester City's upcoming fixtures.
Phil Foden opened the scoring for City before Daizen Maeda equalised for Ipswich. Haaland restored the hosts' lead before half-time and scored his second goal in the 69th minute to put City in a stronger position.
Ipswich reduced the deficit through Zian Flemming's penalty, but City held on to claim all three points and maintain their perfect start to the Premier League campaign, with seven consecutive victories.
However, the result came at a potential cost, as several City players experienced injury problems during the closing stages.
Haaland appeared to sustain his injury after catching the studs of Jack Clarke's boot while attempting a shot. Semenyo was substituted in the 77th minute with a suspected knee problem.
Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic and Nico O'Reilly were also forced off during the second half, leaving Maresca concerned about the number of players affected.
"We’ll see, unfortunately in 10 minutes we had four or five players [injured], Matheus, Kova, Erling, Antoine and Nico also," Maresca said after the match.
"They are inside now, we’ll see, I don’t know, I don’t have news at the moment."
The City manager subsequently offered a more reassuring assessment of Haaland's condition, explaining that the striker had told him he was feeling fine.
"No, I asked all of them, Mateo and Kova said they were okay, Matheus said he is okay, Erling also said that he was okay," Maresca added.
He also clarified that O'Reilly's issue was related to an existing back problem that had affected the midfielder during the warm-up against Coventry.
"The only one we need to wait a little bit is Antoine and we’ll see."
Asked specifically about Haaland, Maresca said: "I don’t know, I asked him and he said he is okay so hopefully it’s nothing serious."
