According to a report by Football Transfer o Thursday October 29,2026, Jadon Sancho's top-class career has effectively come to an end after he turned down a deal with Spanish club Getafe.
The 26-year-old former Manchester United star is set to move to Saudi Arabia after deciding not to join Getafe, despite their interest in signing him on a free transfer, according to FootballTransfers on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Spanish publication MARCA reports Sancho should continue his career in the Middle East.
Sancho became a free agent on June 30 after Manchester United let his contract expire. The England international moved to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for around €85million but struggled to perform consistently for the club.
He did not get on well with former manager Erik ten Hag in 2023, which meant he was out of the first team. He had loan spells at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa while Manchester United tried to find a permanent deal.
But Chelsea also decided not to make him a permanent move in 2025, instead paying a €6million fine.
Getafe have recently got involved in the race to sign Sancho. The Spaniards are believed to have offered Sancho a larger salary than the £400,000 previously mentioned in the English media. However, it was not enough for Sancho as he wanted a salary of €3million per year.
Despite referencing that Sancho could revive his career with the club like Mason Greenwood did during his successful loan spell, Getafe were unable to persuade Sancho.
It is now likely Sancho will move to Saudi Arabia.
Sancho's value has dropped massively, from €108.7million before moving to Manchester United to just €11.7million.
While it is unclear where Sancho will move next, a move to Saudi Arabia could make it harder for him to return to top-class European football.
