According to a report by Madrid Universal on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Real Madrid have emerged as leading contenders to sign Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly facing difficulties in their attempts to secure his services.
The Spanish club are said to be in a strong position to attract the highly rated 16-year-old, who reportedly prefers continuing his football career in Spain.
Paris Saint-Germain recently made an improved sporting and financial proposal in an effort to convince Gabriel to join the French champions. However, reports indicate that the teenager rejected the offer because of his preference for a move to Spain.
Barcelona have also reportedly stepped away from the pursuit because of the financial demands involved in completing a potential transfer. Bayern Munich had previously abandoned their interest in the Manchester United academy prospect.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are reportedly prepared to offer more than €10 million as part of a three-year package to bring Gabriel to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite their reported willingness to make a significant financial commitment, the Spanish giants still need to reach an agreement with Manchester United before the youngster can leave Old Trafford's academy system.
Gabriel has attracted considerable attention through his performances at youth level, particularly because of his goalscoring record and attacking qualities.
Last season, he scored 20 goals in 21 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League, demonstrating his ability to make a significant contribution in front of goal.
He also made an impressive start to his UEFA Youth League campaign in September, scoring a hat-trick on his debut in the competition.
His dribbling skills, creativity and ability to find the net have contributed to his growing reputation as one of the promising young players in English football.
Real Madrid's reported interest reflects the attention Gabriel has attracted from major European clubs. However, his future remains unresolved, as any potential transfer will depend on negotiations with Manchester United and the player's final decision.
For now, the reported interest from Madrid, Barcelona and PSG highlights the competition surrounding the teenager's future.
